About the 2022 Competition

When is the 2022 competition?

The competition final is targeted to be between the last week of August 2022 and mid-September 2022. The competition, however, will require commitment on several weekdays and weekends starting May 2022.

How can I enter the competition?

You can fill the form on our Apply page to indicate your interest by 30 April. We will contact you shortly if you are selected for the next round.

What are the age requirements?

Women between the ages of 18-28 are eligible.


An applicant must be at least 18 years old and must be under 28 years of age as of 1 August 2022. This means that an applicant can turn 28 within their year of reign (starting August 2022).

Is there a height and/or weight requirement?

No, there is no height or weight requirements.

Do I need a degree or tertiary qualifcation to participate?

No, there are no minimum educational requirements.

Can I be a guardian of a child or have given birth to a child?

In order to be eligible to compete internationally at Miss Universe, the applicant cannot be pregnant, have given birth to or parented a child.

Can I participate if I am currently married or have been married?

In order to be eligible to compete internationally at Miss Universe, the applicant cannot have ever been married (civil nor customary), nor had a marriage annulled. Miss Universe Singapore is required to remain unmarried until after competing in the international competition.

Can I participate if I am currently in a relationship or engaged?

We are happy to accept the application as long as the applicant will adhere to the rule of not getting married throughout the Miss Universe Singapore competition process or prior to competing internationally. The applicant cannot have ever been married (civil nor customary), nor had a marriage annulled

Can I enter if I am a Permanent Resident (PR)?

PRs are welcome to apply and participate in the local competition. However, only Singapore citizens will be eligible to be chosen as the eventual winner to represent the country and compete at the international Miss Universe competition. Miss Universe Singapore winner must be a Singapore citizen and in possession of a valid Singapore passport. If an applicant holds dual citizenship or a permanent residency, they must provide details on the entry form.

Do I need to be born female to participate?

In order to be eligible to compete internationally at Miss Universe, the contestant must be in possession of a valid and recognised Singapore identification document (passport or NRIC) reflecting that their amended sex is female.

Do I need any pageant experience or training?

No training is required for an applicant to be eligible to enter. The Miss Universe Singapore Organisation offers professional training to all finalists and the eventual winner in the areas of catwalk, makeup, public speaking and personality development.

Must I have done charity work before?

No, it is not compulsory to have done charity work. We do, however, highly encourage active citizenship and civic-mindedness to collectively promote the social growth of Singapore.

Should I suspend my studies or professional career if I want to participate?

You may have to make special arrangements with your educational institution, university and/or employer should you be selected as a finalist. The Miss Universe Singapore Organisation will do the best to provide you the schedule ahead of time so you can be available for all activities including as photoshoots, video filming, sponsor visits and training in the lead up to the finals. The Miss Universe Singapore Organisation can help facilitate the approval process with your employer or learning institution upon request.


Should you be crowned Miss Universe Singapore 2022, you may be required to put your studies on hold, make arrangements for submissions and exams and/or ask for additional time off from your employer.

Is there a participation fee for the competition?

No, the Miss Universe Singapore Organisation does not collect any fees when you apply.

Winning the competition

How do I win Miss Universe Singapore 2022?

The eventual winner of Miss Universe Singapore 2022 will be determined by a panel of expert judges. Contestants will be judged in several areas from the time they are selected as semi-finalists to the eventual final show. These areas include, but are not limited to, physical beauty, intelligence, confidence, public speaking skills and personality.

What are the responsibilities after winning?

As a titleholder, you will represent Singapore at the international Miss Universe 2022 competition, which is usually held in November/December.

You will also work with various charity organizations, have fashion photoshoots and attend activities held by our sponsors.

Do I need to suspend my studies or professional career after winning?

You may have to make special arrangements with your educational institution, university and/or employer should you win.


The Miss Universe Singapore Organisation will do the best to provide you the schedule ahead of time so you can be available for all scheduled sessions to best prepare you for the international Miss Universe competition.


The Miss Universe Singapore Organisation can help facilitate the approval process with your employer or learning institution upon request.

Do I need to pay to participate in the Miss Universe competition?

The base costs of participating at the Miss Universe competition while representing Singapore will be covered by the Miss Universe Singapore Organisation.
